DAVENPORT - Robert John Weiland, also known as Bobby the Brain, 61, of Davenport, died on Monday, October 22, 2012, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 1 until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. There will be a time of sharing at 6 p.m. Following the visitation, cremation rites will be accorded. Online condolences can be made at hmdfuneralhome.com.

Bobby was born June 18, 1951, in Davenport, a son of the late Anthony J. and Phyllis J. (Reiling) Weiland. He married Patti (Mitchell) Critten on February 11, 1995, in Walcott.

He worked at Ralston Purina for over 20 years, and then retired as a supervisor from Dexton Enterprises earlier this year. Bobby loved the Iowa Hawkeyes, fishing with family and friends, hunting, and the Seattle Seahawks.

Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or to the family for a memorial to be established at Lake Iowa.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Patti Weiland; sons, Andrew Weiland (Rebecca), Garner, N.C., Aaron Weiland, Iowa City, Benjamin Weiland, Raleigh, N.C., and Donald Critten and Douglas Critten (Sigrey), all of Davenport; brothers, Dick (Sharon), Gary (Bonnie), Randy (Lori), and George (Cindy); a sister, Mary (Joe) Hasson; grandchildren, David Weiland and Leysi Miranda; nieces, nephews and great nephews, Amber, Jenny, Heather, Amanda, Susan, Josh, Autumne, Aden, and Tyson; and his best buddy, Little Dude.
