Philip was a really good guy and a friend. He lived in the West End, off Elmwood and we walked to Frank L. Smart together. He was always interested in many subjects and talked a lot which sometimes drove me nuts. For a long time he was in love with Lynn McCubbin who went to our church but attended Central High.

I had a lot of good times with Philip and he was a wonderful decent guy. Sorry to know he is gone. May God bless him.

Like my good friend Roger Ricketts I have fond memories of Phillip. He and his family moved to America from their home in Austria when Phil was in 5th grade. I can still visualize him sitting with his language tutor at Hayes Elementary as he spoke little English when he first arrived. It was quite interesting to observe Phil's journey as he seemed to learn our language and culture so quickly. I can remember going to his home and meeting his parents and how Phil acted as the family interpreter.
Although we drifted apart in High School I still considered him a friend and was saddened to hear of his passing.
