Since retiring I have searched the web for information about my family, with some success.

I have found some obituaries for our classmates. For others, I have searched high and low
and found nothing. I asked a few classmates if they knew what happened to Vallee, and they only knew that she moved south, and died a long time ago. I did not know her very well, just had a few classes with her.  She was very nice, and always had a big smile.  I put the first name Vallee into and found her right away, and that she had lived in Hot Springs, Arkansas. We used to live there, and make an annual trip to visit Linda's parents graves. I decided to try to get a copy of the obituary while there. I also found out she was a teacher at Lakeside High School from a memorial page on Facebook.
Before leaving for Hot Springs I called Marsha, who put the memorial page together. She graduated in '79, and said that Vallee was her English teacher. She was well liked, and her death was very hard on the students. I thought there might be a memorial in the yearbook, so I called
the high school to see if they had a copy of the '87 yearbook. I was immediately transferred to
the librarian, Rachel Shankles. She explained that the then principal did not believe in memorials. Rachel provided me with the great photo of Vallee and her children, from her personal photos. She said that there was a dramatic weight loss, then the cancer. She was ill for about a year.
Val accomplished a great deal in her 36 years. She had a nice family, a successful career, the respect of her peers, and her students.

Thank you for finding this information. I had always wondered what had happened to Vallee. She was a great girl. We shared lots of time together in several classes. I'm sure she was a wonderful teacher.
