DAVENPORT -- Kenneth E. Buttgen, Jr., of Davenport, passed away on November 18, 2006, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus. Funeral services were held Friday, November 24, 2006, 2:30 p.m. at Runge Mortuary. Memorials may be made to his son, Marcus White, for his college education.

Kenneth was born June 13, 1951, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Kenneth and Nari (Chirpas) Buttgen. His mother passed away on May 18, 2006. His father survives in Apache Junction, Ariz. Kenneth graduated from Davenport West High School in 1969. He attended Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville and earned a degree from Scott Community College. Kenneth was director of housekeeping for the Rhythm City Casino boat, and had worked as a chef in various restaurants in the area. He was a long-time volunteer at the Bix 7 Race, the Festival of Trees parade and other community causes. He enjoyed following NASCAR, the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Green Bay Packers. He loved to have fun with his many friends and family members and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son and brother. Survivors include his loving wife, Janet, and son, Marcus White, both of Davenport; son, Dondi Royce Buttgen, residing in Australia; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Julie Buttgen, Ligonier, Ind., and Rev. Joe and Darlene Buttgen, Newport, Ark.; two nieces and a nephew; and aunts, Patsy Meinert, LeClaire, Ruth Buttgen, Dallas, Texas, and Lula Bonsett, Indianapolis, Ind.
