When I was in Seminary, I worked at Mercy Hospital in Davenport as a Chaplain (this was in the summer of 1977) and Joyce was a patient that I visited many times that summer. I was not with her at the end but I spent some beautiful hours with her in her last days. God be with her. We grew up together at Hayes School, F.L. Smart and then West. Blessing Garden's was always a great place to visit in the West End of Davenport. Many of the boys in our class at Hayes were greatly enamored with Joyce, the girl that everybody loves. She was a beautiful presence then and always. I wish that I could of helped her more those days I visited her back in 1977 and I know that she lives with God in Heaven now and I hope to talk with her someday when I go to heaven.

Hey, Girl,
I remember growing up with you in the west end of Davenport. You were the beautiful daughter of the owners of Blessing Gardens where we always bought our produce. I cried when I heard that you left us at an early age and will always have a soft spot for you in my heart. Enjoy heaven!!

Ken
